Professor Minerva McGonagall
Reasoning:
Self-confident, bold and forceful, this card represents a natural leader.
This person usually dominates a situation, is charismatic and authoritative.
Never content to sit by, this card represents someone who is always doing something,
creating, innovating and is always sure of their convictions.
Minerva McGonagall, head of Gryffindor house and professor of the tricky subject
of Transfiguration. She commands respect effortlessly and is simply indomitable.
She takes the risk of following Albus Dumbledore through controversy without
care of what others may think, and is the first to act when Hagrid is being
wrongfully attacked by a whole group of Aurors.
In a traditional tarot deck, this is the King of Wands.
Notes
I love McGonagall.
I tend to forget how much fun she is to draw, except for the tartan stuff..
I'm always hesitant to do it for some reason. I'm sure that this particular
tartan here is of no known clan, but if it does happen to resemble one, then
it was wholly accidental. :)
McGonagall is a tall woman, so it's unfortunate that she looks a bit shorter
here because of the cabinet behind her. I just had to make her physically smaller
than some of the other characters on other cards because of her hat. In retrospect,
that could have been handled better. She's also a bit curvier here than she
probably should be, being described as slender, but what can I say... curves
are fun. :)
This card went smoothly overall, and there's really nothing else I can complain
about except for the relative boring-ness of the stuff in the bookshelf. But
I'm rather at a loss as to what might be on them besides books and the like,
as I imagine all the items for the students to transfigure wouldn't fit on a
bookshelf... hence the trunk down below.
