Godric Gryffindor
Reasoning: Founder of the Hogwarts house of Gryffindor, which welcomes the bold and brave. This card represents the seed of courage, creativity, optimism and bold excitement. This card encourages you to give your best.... to face and overcome challenges and fears.

In a traditional tarot deck, this is the Ace of Wands.

Notes
I have a fairly strong mental image of Godric Gryffindor... always pictured him a bit lionish-looking, so it was alarming when book 6 came out and introduced a character who actually does look like a lion. But, no matter... until I'm told otherwise by J.K. herself, there can be another lionish looking individual who lived some 1,000 years previously. ;)
Those are supposed to be winged boar statues behind him. They kind of look more like bulldogs, which is unfortunate, but then again, medieval art isn't known for it's realistic depictions. The floating candles were super fun, and I much prefer this sword design over the one that Fawkes is holding in his card (which is very likely to be replaced as of the time I'm writing this...)
A little factoid about this card: I messed up the black outlining on his mustache, and was about to freak out because I would have to start all over... but then I attempted to use white-out over it. The problem is, the ink doesn't stay the same color over the white-out as it is on the paper... it looked awful. BUT, using a shade or two darker ink over the white-out achieved nearly the same color... so it's hardly noticeable from a reasonable distance. Yay!

Please do not reproduce these cards on your website or print them for your own distribution and profit! This is my pet project, and I would like to keep it on this site only, please. You are, however, VERY welcome to link to this page! Thank you!
