Letters From No One
Reasoning:
The Four of Gryffindor/Wands is the card of excited jubilation, of new
opportunities, freedom and escape from bondage. It can be good news, a thrilling
surprise, or some sort of reward. The Hogwarts acceptance letter that Harry
receives is the very first piece of mail ever addressed to him - an exciting
surprise in itself! But it's about to get even more exciting when Harry actually
gets to read the contents of those letters: a promise of freedom from the drudgery
of muggle existence under the thumb of the Dursleys, an unimaginable new world
of opportunity and a turning point in Harry's life - things will never be the
same after receiving this news!
In a traditional tarot deck, this is the Four (4) of Wands.
Notes
This was pretty
fun to draw, though I'm not thrilled with the PINK background. Oh well, leave
it to the Dursley's to have hideous wallpaper! This scene is much longer and
more jubilant in the movie, and I think I got confused. When I reread this scene
in the book, it's actually pretty brief before Vernon grabs Harry around the
middle and chucks him out of the room. But it's such an exciting moment in the
film that I wanted to use it for this happy card.
