Rollover for detail

Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot & Prongs
Reasoning: This is the card of camaraderie, friendship, exuberance and teamwork. Feeling on top of the world, bursting with energy and being with (and helping) companions you love. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs were the best of friends, a formidable team, and pillars of strength and support for one another no matter what circumstances life threw their individual ways (Remus's lycanthropy, Sirius running away from home, etc...).
(I chose them for their time at school together, NOT the treachery and heartache that came later).

In a traditional tarot deck, this is the Three (3) of Cups.

Notes
This card was a fun, but sometimes frustrating challenge. This is the card with the most people squeezed on it (so far...), and it was a trick getting them all in there fairly equally without making their forms tiny. This one went through many planning phases, with them in different positions and with different backgrounds.... all four of them huddled around the map, Moony and Wormtail leaning over Padfoot and Prongs's shoulders, lighting the map with their wands, suits of armor instead of the tapestry, etc, etc... but in the end I felt this looked the best, and I liked the way it's pretty balanced without being centered or symmetrical.
Those are Remus's hands on James and Sirius's shoulders. That might not be obvious from looking at it, unfortunately. The tapestry was lots of fun (in fact, if I knew how to quilt, I might make one someday...), and I LOVE how the stone of the walls turned out. I just kind of jumped into coloring this one, and hence there really isn't a color test for it. I just knew I wanted the walls that color, and their uniforms are obvious, and I knew I wanted them to all have slightly different complexions to match their different features.
Sadly, a considerable bit of quality was lost in the scanning of this: their eye colors blurred into gray (James's are actually hazel, and Sirius and Remus's match their animagus forms on the tapestry. Peter's are light blue), and the black of their robes look much less smooth on the screen than they do in the original. Weird.
