Rollover for detail

Moaning Myrtle
Reasoning: This card is angst. Feeling like the victim, as low as you can go, horrid misfortune and subsequent bemoaning your fate. While this card can represent true misfortune (and poor Myrtle certainly has had some bad luck), it more often is a sign of overreacting and being melodramatic. Yes, Myrtle was bullied at school, and yes, she met an untimely death in a bathroom stall. But it is she who chooses to wallow in her misery as much as possible, for the last 50+ years. This card means you need to get a grip, and realize that things can't possibly get any worse, so quite whining
.

In a traditional tarot deck, this is the Ten (10) of Swords.

Notes
Poor Myrtle. She's a character I have a very clear mental image of, so this was a pretty easy card to draw, except for the toilet. I've never drawn a toilet before, and it's certainly not perfect here, but there you go. It was a challenge trying to depict peeling paint over wood on the stalls, as well as student-carved graffiti. It's kind of too bad you can't make out what it says a bit better, but I suppose it's 50 year old graffiti, so it's bound to be a bit illegible. ;)
The transparency was a great deal of fun - the ghosts are the only cards that have pencil in addition to Copics, to help with that transparent effect.

Please do not reproduce these cards on your website or print them for your own distribution and profit! This is my pet project, and I would like to keep it on this site only, please. You are, however, VERY welcome to link to this page! Thank you!
