Madam OLYMPE MAXIME

An incredibly large, but unmistakably elegant lady, Madame Maxime is the headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy, located in France. She wears her black hair in an elegant knot, and is adorned with many opals. She has an intimidating air about her, both because of her remarkable size and commanding presence: her students stand at attention when she enters the dining hall, and her coach is pulled by enormous licquor-drinking winged horses. It is possibly these horses that first caught the eye of Hogwarts groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid.... Hagrid takes great pains to try and woo Olympe. He dons a horrible furry suit, overpowering cologne, and attempts to comb his hair. He even shows her the dragons for the 1st Triwizard Task. His efforts seemed to be paying off, until he assumed she was a half-giant like himself. Quite offended, she insists she has "big bones." They eventually become close, and she journeys with him to attempt to convince the giants to join Dumbledore. Their attempt is not successful, and she and Hagrid part on good terms.
