LUCIUS and NARCISSA MALFOY
Lucius
and Narcissa are the parents of Draco Malfoy, Slytherin archenemy
of Harry Potter. Lucius has Draco's same pale, pointed face, cold
grey eyes, and white-blonde hair. Narcissa, though blonde, slender
and pretty, is described as"looking like there was dung
under her nose." Extremely wealthy and descending from
a long line of "pureblood" wizards and witches, the
Malfoys exert a great deal of power in the Ministry of Magic.
Lucius is a high-ranking Deatheater (something to do with "muggle-torture"...),
but they have denied it since Voldemort's downfall. They are violently
prejudiced against Muggles, Muggle-borns, and "Muggle-lovers."
Something else is definitely afoul in the Malfoy family. Although
Lucius buys his son practically anything he wants (he bought an
entire set of Nimbus 2001's for the Slytherin Quidditch team,
ensuring Draco's placement as Seeker), and sweets are constantly
sent to school, he is a cold, unforgiving and demanding father.
It is obvious where Draco's bigotry and contempt originated, as
well as his insecurity. It is hard to say what Draco may end up
doing to make his family proud....
It was learned in book 5 that Narcissa and Sirius Black are related,
both being from one of the oldest lines of pureblood wizards.
I found this extremely creepy, and made me ponder what sort of
weird inbreeding might be going on in the pureblood families,
as numbers dwindle. Also in book 5, Lucius Malfoy was arrested
and sent to Azkaban (not sure if Narcissa was....), after his
involvement with the skirmish at the Ministry of Magic. While
it's wonderful to see him put in his place (at least for me),
one has to wonder how long he'll stay there, due to the power
and influence of the Malfoy family, and the strength of Voldemort.
But, as Harry said, at least the entire wizarding worlds knows
what racist scumbags the Malfoys are.

"'Dreadful things, Dumbledore,' said Malfoy lazily...
'but the governors feel it's time for you to step aside. This
is an Order of Suspension-- you'll find all twelve signatures
on it. I'm afraid we feel you're losing your touch. How many
attacks have there been now? Two more this afternoon, wasn't
it? At this rate, there'll be no Muggle-borns left at Hogwarts,
and we all know what an awful loss that would to be to
the school.'"
