STAN SHUNPIKE and ERNIE PRANG

	Stan Shunpike is the pimply, large-eared, purple-uniformed conductor of the Knight Bus, 'emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard.' When Harry first meets Stan, it was entirely accidental, when Harry fell over while running away from the Dursley's at the start of his third year. Harry goes by Neville Longbottom's name to avoid attention, but is eventually found out. No doubt Stan impressed many of his friends by saying "I met 'arry Potter!" Stan is about 18 years old at the time, and I assume a pureblood wizard, based on his contempt he demonstrates towards Muggles, who 'Never notice nuffink...' While he demonstrates contempt for muggles, it is unlikely that it goes any farther than that. Stan was imprisoned on suspicion of being a Death Eater, although the chances of this pimply, exaggerating 21 year-old being in Voldemort's inner circle is highly unlikely. Hopefully he will be released soon. Ernie Prang, or 'Ern' as Stan calls him, is the elderly, thick-spectacled driver of the Knight Bus. Driver is a bit of an overstatement, as Ernie's driving skills leave much to be desired. It is next to impossible to actually sleep on the Knight Bus, and it seems many passengers end up motion-sick. But, so far accidents seem to have been avoided under Ernies command. Ernie doesn't really say much... about the most he says is "Ar.." and "Gas explosion" (the latter referring to the Ministry's muggle-worthy cover-up for the disaster caused by (they think) Sirius Black).

'Eleven Sickles,' said Stan, 'but for firteen you get 'ot chocolate, and for fifteen you get an OT water bottle an' a toofbrush in the color of your choice.'"
