Prof. FILIUS FLITWICK
Head
of Ravenclaw, and tiny, white-haired professor of Charms. Filius
Flitwick has remained a fairly minor character so far,
but we've gotten a pretty good look at his personality. He's very
sweet, paternal, and kind to his students, even when they send
him sailing across the room with a misguided charm. I'm so glad
that he hasn't developed 'little man syndrome' or anything like
that. :) Rumor has it that Flitwick was a skilled dueler in his
youth, and Lockhart claims Flitwick knows more love charms than
anyone he's ever met. He's obviously been teaching at Hogwarts
for a considerable amount of time, and was teaching when the Marauders
went to school. He is apparently a very skilled wizard, as Harry
is sure that Flitwick could have cleaned up (but chose not to)
after Fred and George Weasley's destruction when they left school,
and the twins themselves said that "Flitwick always gets everyone
through the exams alright". Hopefully he knows a few effective
charms than that to be utilized in the fight against Voldemort
(I'm sure he does), and I wonder if he's a member of the Order....hmmm.

"Professor Flitwick, the Charms teacher, was a tiny little wizard
who had to stand on a pile of books to see over his desk. At
the start of their first class he took the roll call, and when
he reached Harry's name he gave an excited squeak and toppled
out of sight."
